About The Position
The Great Starts Infant & Early Childhood Master's Clinician at the McNabb Center is a vital role focused on providing evidence-based dyadic therapy to infants, toddlers, and preschoolers. This position emphasizes trauma-informed care and family-focused services, ensuring that the clinician maintains supportive relationships with both the children enrolled in the program and their caregivers. The clinician is responsible for conducting thorough assessments of the mental health of children, formulating diagnoses, and developing tailored treatment plans utilizing the DC: 0-5: Diagnostic Classification of Mental Health and Developmental Disorders of Infancy and Early Childhood. In addition to individual therapy, the clinician will run psychoeducational groups for families, which include parenting classes and other educational sessions. These groups aim to assist families in learning and implementing self-regulation strategies that enhance emotional regulation and mitigate trauma-related behaviors. The clinician will also provide education and support to expectant mothers, helping them with birth plans and offering resources on childbirth, breastfeeding, safe sleep practices, and newborn development. Collaboration is key in this role, as the clinician will work closely with various partners to advocate for the children and families served. Timely documentation of program activities is essential, adhering to both program and agency standards. The clinician is expected to meet productivity targets consistently and may be required to cover residential shifts and perform other duties as assigned. This position is based in Knoxville, Tennessee, and offers a starting salary of approximately $52,488 per year, depending on relevant experience and education.
