The Grease Route Driver, under the supervision of the Fleet Manager, is responsible for operating a commercial vacuum truck to service grease traps and interceptors at customer sites during overnight shifts. This is a local driving position with no overnights required away from home. The role requires the ability to maneuver vehicles in tight, often congested areas and perform physically demanding labor. Cleanliness, safety, and professionalism are essential, as the position involves independent work, direct customer interaction, and strict adherence to environmental and DOT regulations.

Requirements

  • Valid Local Class C driver’s license
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Ability to operate and maintain vacuum truck and associated equipment
  • Strong attention to detail, cleanliness, and safety
  • Comfortable working independently on overnight shifts
  • Excellent time management and communication skills
  • Familiarity with DOT regulations and safety practices
  • Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 75 pounds
  • Regular bending, climbing, kneeling, and working in confined or tight areas
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions during overnight hours
  • Manual dexterity to operate hoses, valves, and pumping equipment
  • Prolonged periods of driving, walking, and standing

Nice To Haves

  • 1–2 years of commercial driving experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Operate vacuum truck safely and efficiently to pump out grease traps and interceptors at designated customer locations
  • Navigate and maneuver truck through tight alleys, driveways, and urban areas, often in low-light or limited-space conditions
  • Maintain cleanliness of job sites and work areas after service is performed to meet both company and customer expectations
  • Perform thorough pre- and post-trip inspections of vehicle and equipment, reporting any defects or maintenance needs
  • Complete accurate service logs, route sheets, and any required documentation
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch and team members to report delays, concerns, or service issues
  • Interact with customers in a courteous and professional manner
  • Follow all safety protocols, DOT regulations, and company policies
  • Assist with facility or equipment cleaning and upkeep as needed
  • Other duties as assigned
