About The Position

The job involves setting up and operating a Gravure printing press to produce quality process printing of shrink sleeve labels on flexible plastic film and other types of stock according to job jacket instructions.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read, write and comprehend simple instructions.
• Ability to work collaboratively with co-workers.
• Ability to function well in a high-paced and stressful environment.
• Ability to read a standard ruler to 1/32" and a metric ruler to 1mm.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure.

Responsibilities

• Sets up and operates Gravure printing press to produce quality process printing of shrink sleeve labels.
• Receives and reviews job jackets, specifications, and customer requirements.
• Retrieves and receives dies, inks, materials, plates, etc. and sets up press.
• Secures approvals before running job and solves problems to ensure quality.
• Monitors and adjusts press for consistent products; ensures product quality.
• Cuts sample of printed material and inspects for imperfections.
• Maintains inks, colors, and registration to meet specifications.
• Prepares production records, reports, and timesheets.
• Operates hand truck and hand tools.
• Maintains all equipment by performing routine maintenance and cleaning.
• Trains co-workers and new hires to set up, operate and use equipment.
• Demonstrates punctuality, regular attendance, and professionalism.
