About The Position

The Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) Grassroots and Constituent Affairs Coordinator (G&CA) Coordinator assists the Government and Community Relations (GCR) team in the coordination and execution of WWP's grassroots efforts and congressional casework as well as WWP's government affairs activities. The primary responsibilities of the coordinator are to support the G&CA Director in the day-to-day administration of advocacy initiatives, events, and communications related to GCR team activities.

Requirements

  • Two years of customer service experience communicating with constituents or clients.
  • One year of advocacy, legislative, policy, or equivalent experience, preferably in a government or non-profit organization.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field of study. Equivalent combination of education, experience, training, or certification considered in lieu of degree.

Nice To Haves

  • Two years of military experience or working with VSO, MSO, or other non-profit organization.
  • Two years of experience working in a Congressional office, an Executive branch office, Federal Agency, or other government entity.
  • Two years of experience using Salesforce.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor inbound correspondence for the GCR team through a variety of established channels including Microsoft Outlook and Salesforce and ensure the timely distribution and disposition of all incoming inquiries.
  • Assist with the scheduling, coordination, and execution of GCR activities, events, and initiatives, including but not limited to Congressional fly-ins; volunteer advocacy summits; GCR webinars; WWP Soldier Ride DC; congressional district events; roundtables; conferences, and other events.
  • Prepare internal and external correspondence, reports, and materials (e.g., drafting emails and correspondence; collecting data; generating reports and memos; creating presentations and training materials).
  • Assist with the development and formatting of content for the Project Advocacy Newsletter.
  • Manage and develop the Grassroots & Constituent Affairs Mission Central page(s) to include timely updates; development of content; and validation of information.
  • Contribute to the development, updating, and distribution of relevant grassroots campaign materials, resources, and tools for WWP volunteers, including digital and print advocacy communications.
  • Ensure the accuracy and timely entry of all activities, data, constituent interactions, and other relevant information related to grassroots and constituent affairs activities utilizing internal platforms (e.g., Salesforce, Quorum, CVENT, etc.).
  • Establish working relationships with WWP teammates across the organization to advance the mission and the GCR program strategy and goals.
  • Maintain broad and in-depth knowledge and understanding of Military Service Organization (MSO) and Veteran Service Organization (VSO) community needs, concerns, issues, trends, 'best practices,' and innovations.
  • Attend and actively participate in required training and/or meetings, including but not limited to New Teammate Orientation, WWP Cares, ASIST Suicide Prevention training, Leadership training, culture/team based training, or departmental huddles.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
