About The Position

The Die Cutter Operator/BMA Foil Stamper aids in the quick, efficient and accurate production of materials by operating a die cutter and/or mechanical foil or embossing to enhance a finished product. 1. Demonstrate commitment to safety and perform job duties in accordance with company safety policies and procedures 2. Assist other operators on 2 person make-readies 3. Operate powered pallet equipment 4. Calculate foil usage and inventory 5. Communicate with departing shift to learn status of any job in progress 6. Determine the best manufacturing method to produce product efficiently and effectively 7. Determine which dies available are appropriate to do a job, emboss stock maximizing detail 8. Maintain accurate counts (load and total counts) 9. Maintain high efficiency according to established rates during operation of the assigned equipment 10. Maintain quality of product produced by monitoring die cutting, creasing and stripping of waste 11. Troubleshoot and make decisions regarding the quality of the finished product making adjustments while press is running 12. Complete required quality inspections and paperwork 13. Perform routine maintenance on equipment, as well as cleanliness and housekeeping of the assigned press and surrounding area 14. Pull stock for job—wind and jog stock if needed 15. Responsible for setup of press according to necessary specifications 16. Set up and make-ready of die cut, score, stripping, & blanking tooling if required 17. Set up die cutter & tooling and operate die cutter, stamp foil on stock 18. Operate a flatbed press unassisted to accomplish a stamping or embossing job 19. Understand department communication systems, schedules, time/attendance system and job reporting requirements 20. Understand job ticket information to determine quantity, special work instructions, and any other special customer requirements 21. Work throughout die cutting department, running equipment as needed 22. Work with hand tools to make necessary adjustments and lock dies on the Chase 23. Work with peers and other departments to improve quality and performance 24. Actively participate in lean manufacturing initiatives 25. Perform other duties as assigned by management/supervisors
