About The Position

VTG is looking for a Graphics Designer in Chantilly, VA. The role involves designing and developing graphics and illustrations for use in technical materials, manuals, and publications. The designer will operate computer hardware and software to prepare, revise, print, and store text, illustrations, graphs, charts, etc. This may include the operation of equipment such as still and video cameras for the design and production of photos and videotape. The designer will formulate concepts and render illustrations and details from models, sketches, memory, written or verbal instructions, and imagination. Responsibilities also include selecting type, drawing lettering, laying out material, or performing related duties. The designer will determine the style, technique, and medium best suited to produce desired effects and conform to reproduction requirements, or follow specific instructions regarding these variables. The position requires expertise in a variety of work processes or activities typically developed through a combination of job-related training and/or considerable on-the-job experience. The designer is typically seen as a 'go-to' individual and routinely shares experience and knowledge with peers. They will work autonomously within established procedures and practices, using their knowledge of how disciplines relate to one another to create impact and achieve objectives beyond those of the team. The designer may mentor and serve as a lead for the specified job, allocate work, and provide technical guidance to more junior team members. They will gather and analyze data to identify and solve problems that arise with little or no precedent, and may present data or recommendations for review, approval, or implementation. The designer will impact their own team and other teams whose work activities are closely related, suggesting improvements to existing processes and solutions to improve team efficiency. Clear communication and professional facilitation of the exchange of ideas and information are essential, as the designer will consistently interact with others outside of the team, with customers, and with all levels of the organization as necessary.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 6+ years minimum of related experience.
  • TS/SCI with Poly Required.
  • Bachelor's degree with 4-8 years of experience, or equivalent experience in lieu of education.
