About The Position

Principia College is seeking a Graphic Designer to enhance its brand through innovative marketing campaigns and effective internal communications. This role involves conceptualizing and executing design projects that promote positive brand awareness and align with the college's mission and values. The designer will collaborate with various stakeholders to create compelling content across multiple platforms, ensuring consistency with the college's brand identity.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in an agency setting, preferably in higher education or non-profit.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience as a conceptual Graphic Designer.
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Fine Arts, Graphic Design, Digital Media Design, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong design skills with an understanding of layout, color theory, typography, and information hierarchy.
  • Experience with digital and print media projects, including marketing collateral and presentations.
  • Proficiency in design software such as Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects, PowerPoint, XD, Sketch, Figma, and Midjourney.
  • Strong background in branding and advertising, with a strategic mindset for creating marketing campaigns.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute communications and marketing strategies to increase brand awareness and improve perception of Principia College.
  • Collaborate with multiple teams to create a wide range of materials including web pages, presentations, and marketing collateral.
  • Translate strategic direction into high-quality design within established brand identity.
  • Create original content by determining the ideal usage of color, text, font style, imagery, and layout.
  • Manage the design and uploading process for project materials using a content management system.
  • Create and distribute content for digital platforms, including social media and blogs, to showcase campus life and events.
  • Work with the Marketing Director to create compelling campaigns and marketing materials.
  • Collaborate on the college's external website and app to ensure consistency with brand standards.
  • Ensure all marketing materials have a consistent voice and look across all channels.
  • Support the College's fundraising and alumni outreach efforts through collaboration with Advancement and Alumni offices.
  • Align marketing efforts with the broader institution's goals and priorities.
  • Stay updated on design trends and best practices.
