About The Position

Dough Zone is seeking a part time contract Graphic Designer to support a wide range of creative needs across marketing, in-store experience, and brand development. This role is ideal for a highly adaptable designer who can move fluidly between digital and physical design—from merchandise and promotional campaigns to signage systems and packaging. You will work closely with the Marketing team and cross-functional partners to bring the Dough Zone brand to life across multiple touchpoints, ensuring consistency, quality, and thoughtful execution. This position can be structured on a project-based or hourly basis, depending on scope and availability.

Requirements

  • Excellent working knowledge of graphic design fundamentals, organization and communications.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Successful working independently or as part of a team.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Graphic Design, Visual Communication or a related field.
  • 1+ years of working experience within the restaurant industry
  • 4+ years of working experience in graphic design
  • Proven experience in signage, merchandise or digital design, with a strong portfolio showcasing relevant work. Portfolio is required.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and other design software.
  • Knowledge of packaging materials, printing processes, and design for manufacturability.
  • Strong understanding of branding, typography, color theory, and visual storytelling.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with signage systems (including environmental graphics, lighting, or spatial design)
  • Familiarity working with international vendors and manufacturers
  • Experience in restaurant or food & beverage brands
  • Experience with food photography and/or videography
  • Understanding of material costs and production trade-offs

Responsibilities

  • Design a variety of brand assets including
  • Merchandise (apparel, branded goods, retail items, etc)
  • Promotional materials (posters, digital assets, website materials, retail items)
  • Packaging (takeout packaging, labels, and seasonal designs)
  • Signage systems (menu boards, environmental graphics, lighting integrations)
  • Additional brand and operational assets (e.g., menus, in-store collateral, event materials, internal documents)
  • Create packaging concepts, mockups, and prototypes for review and approval.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to understand project goals, timelines, and brand standards.
  • Work closely with marketing and operations teams to understand product requirements, target audience, and market trends.
  • Review and approve final packaging proofs, ensuring design accuracy and quality while considering material selection and cost per unit
  • Collaborate with production teams to ensure design feasibility and adherence to manufacturing processes.
  • Innovate brand extension items, brand peripherals, and brand IP imagery.
