About The Position

The Graphic Designer is a valuable member of the creative team who uses their visual skills and creativity to execute designs that communicate the mission and values of Best Friends Animal Society. The Graphic Designer works regularly with client requests from across the organization, creating innovative and exciting collateral while staying within the Best Friends brand. Designers work independently but may also collaborate on projects with their colleagues and participate in group workshops and brainstorming sessions. Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in graphic design or related field, or equivalent experience
  • Mastery of Adobe Creative Suite
  • Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Portfolio that demonstrates ability to work across digital and print mediums

Nice To Haves

  • Skilled with using enterprise Canva a plus, willingness to learn a must

Responsibilities

  • You are responsible and accountable for the culture of your team.
  • Consistently create high-quality, on-brand designs for print, web, social media, animation, merchandise and signage with minimal supervision.
  • Ensures quality and considers the end-user through a thoughtful selection and editing of photos and illustrations, consideration of format and layout, understanding of information architecture and formulation of type hierarchy.
  • Collaborate with internal teams from creative, digital, development, brand experience, marketing and others to create effective and on-brand design solutions to help meet organization goals.
  • Strong sense of concept development, as well as problem-solving, research, and presentation abilities.
  • Soft skills include good verbal and written communication skills, vital to working effectively with colleagues across different teams, from project managers, brand strategists, to creative director, and copywriters.
  • Understands emerging trends in the philosophies of design, print and web technology, animation and experiential design.
  • Continually pursue education and training in evolving technology and practices to improve design output.
  • Contributes to different phases of design process for group projects: research, brainstorm, mood boards, concept sketches, design layout, user flows and more.
  • Own design responsibilities on projects, manage day-to-day workflow with a high level of self-sufficiency from beginning design concept to end product.
  • Comply with our proofing, delivery, and archiving for design assets, and update job status in our project management system.
