Create and update design materials in both print and digital formats for Latino Studies which includes: the Department of Mexican American and Latino/a Studies, the Center for Mexican American Studies, and the Latino Research Institute.

  • Produce visually engaging and professional quality graphic design and layout of logos, brochures, catalogs, policy briefs, calendars, posters, flyers, newsletters, advertisement reports, surveys, powerpoint presentations, social media and other web or printed materials including swag and signage for Latino Studies. Consult with immediate supervisor to determine the most appropriate method for preparing work to meet production deadlines and marketing objectives and to make necessary adjustments according to feedback.
  • Collaborate with Latino Studies team in planning and executing projects and events.
  • Aid in content capture with photography or videography as needed.
  • Updates website content and assists in social media posts.
  • Coordinates with internal and external printing entities and converts files to appropriate formats for each specific project.
  • Research current trends in format and material for innovative graphic design projects and research content relevant to Latino Studies topics. Attend workshops and trainings to keep up-to-date with market.
  • Other related functions as assigned.
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • At least one year of experience in graphic design and production.
  • Familiarity with tools and software commonly used in all aspects of graphic design.
  • Experience with Canva and Adobe Creative Suite and Web management software.
  • Strong writing and communications skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and professionally with faculty, staff, and student groups.
  • Ability to meet deadlines reliably and consistently.
  • Work performed on multiple projects concurrently, under pressure of rigid deadlines and time limitations.
  • Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
  • Additional experience in graphic design.
  • Familiarity with UT policy and procedure.
