About The Position

The Graphic Designer of Print Production works in-house in the Print Shop to design, print, process, and ship marketing/internal communication materials, sales materials, and other non-printed and printed needs. Utilizes visual communications and standardized usage of our brand’s templates to develop projects to final production. Projects may include Point of Sale/Marketing material and internal presentation, social media, internal signage and digital assets.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required. Bachelor’s degree in graphic design preferred.
  • Minimum of two years of work experience.
  • Minimum one of year design experience with internship, contract work, agency creative department or design studio preferred.
  • Large format graphic and multi-media experience preferred.
  • Digital print and production with wide format, flatbed and/or small format production printers experience preferred.
  • Understanding of the creative process, color management and production techniques.
  • Proficient on Mac/PC hardware, and the following software: InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat, RIP software, Excel, PowerPoint & Word.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Ability to lift and maneuver 40-45 pounds of large tubes of substrate/material.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for creating engaging in-house marketing and sales materials, internal communications, and various digital and print assets while ensuring brand consistency.
  • Actively monitors industry trends and participates in ongoing training and webinars to stay current, and applying new knowledge to suggest enhancements to Heartland’s marketing initiatives.
  • Leverages creativity to solve problems and strengthen customer, consumer, and brand connections, while facilitating a smooth workflow by ensuring all deadlines are met and system and customer communications are complete.
  • Facilitates print production including customer communication, operation of digital presses, finishing of printed pieces, and shipping while maintaining acceptable consistent quality in finished products.
  • Facilitates cross-functional communication across internal departments and fosters relationships to ensure that we are leveraging the best solutions, cost effectively and without compromise to our company and/or brand guidelines.
  • Maintains a clean and organized production area, ensures proper use, maintenance, and cleaning of printers and equipment based on training provided, and monitors inventory to ensure necessary materials are available.
