About The Position

Fanatics Collectibles is looking for a forward-thinking AI-Focused Graphic Designer II to explore and integrate AI technologies into our creative workflows, pushing the boundaries of trading card design. This role will assist in modernizing our card design process by implementing AI-driven tools and methodologies. You will collaborate with the Graphic Design and Product teams to enhance traditional workflows, automate repetitive design tasks, and explore new creative possibilities. This role requires a balance of technical proficiency in AI-assisted design tools and a strong foundation in print design, production, and graphic design principles.

Requirements

• Proven experience in graphic design with a strong portfolio showcasing trading card designs, collectibles, or similar work.
• Proficiency in industry-standard design tools (Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.).
• Strong understanding of composition, typography, and visual storytelling.
• Experience with generative AI tools for design and image creation.
• Familiarity with AI-powered automation for creative workflows.
• Basic understanding of AI ethics, intellectual property considerations, and AI-driven content generation.
• Strong understanding of CMYK, Pantone, and specialty printing techniques.
• Experience with print file preparation, prepress, and troubleshooting production issues.
• Familiarity with print-specific AI tools for optimizing artwork for mass production.
• Ability to work closely with traditional artists and adapt AI tools to enhance rather than replace human creativity.
• Willingness to experiment with emerging technologies and drive creative innovation.
• Strong communication skills to articulate AI-driven design strategies to non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience working in the trading card, collectibles, or gaming industry.
• Basic coding knowledge (Python, JavaScript) for automation and AI tool customization.

Responsibilities

• Research and implement AI tools to optimize the card design process.
• Integrate AI-driven design tools into existing creative workflows.
• Assist in developing AI-powered templates, style guides, and automation solutions for scalable content creation.
• Design visually compelling trading cards, packaging, and promotional materials using both traditional and AI-enhanced methods.
• Ensure that AI-generated assets align with brand aesthetics, IP guidelines, and quality standards.
• Collaborate with artists, writers, and marketing teams to create immersive card designs and collectible experiences.
• Develop production-ready files for print, ensuring accurate color management, resolution, and layout.
• Work closely with print vendors to ensure AI-assisted designs are optimized for high-quality physical production.
• Understand and implement printing techniques such as foil stamping, embossing, die-cutting, and specialty coatings in AI-driven design workflows.
• Utilize AI tools to streamline prepress processes, including image upscaling, color correction, and automated layout generation.
• Stay updated on advancements in digital printing, variable data printing, and AI-enhanced print production methods.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to explore how AI can evolve the future of collectible card design.
• Contribute to discussions on ethical AI use, copyright considerations, and responsible AI-generated content strategies.

Benefits

• Salary range of $69,000-$80,000, which represents base pay only and does not include short-term or long-term incentive compensation.
