About The Position

The Baltimore City Department of Recreation and Parks is seeking a Community Aide, graphic designer. The successful candidate will gain practical, hands-on experience in graphic design. Your work will directly help enhance the agency’s brand awareness and visibility within Baltimore City, as well as the agency’s engagement of the City’s residents. The position will have a minimum of 30 hours per week.

Requirements

• Recently graduated from a related bachelor’s program at a college/university.
• Have an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
• High attention to detail.
• Deadline oriented.
• Strong graphic design skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Possesses significant knowledge of typography, layout, illustration, and other graphic design skills.
• Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite apps such as InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator.
• Experience with transfer of artwork and art files to print and press vendors.
• Ability to balance heavy workload with short- and long-term project deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Create and design engaging graphics for use in marketing and promotional collateral.
• Create and design logos, flyers, banners, posters, and graphics for social media.
• Develop and design presentation templates for agency divisions.
• Develop and design flyer templates for agency divisions.
