About The Position

The Graphic Design Manager will report directly Sr. Manager, Product Content and Design, and will be responsible for creating marketing display graphics and graphical design templates/elements for our same day and outlab fulfilled products ordered from our digital photo lab kiosks, mobile apps and web ordering systems At FUJIFILM North America Corporation, we are many things to both consumers and business customers. Requirements

  • BS/BA graphic design or other related quantitative disciplines/experience
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of Graphic Design experience, supervisory/management experience a plus
  • Team player, able to quickly develop internal relationships
  • Excellent communications and presentation skills
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of graphical file formats, pixels, DPI, EXIF data
  • Experience managing simultaneous projects for multiple customers (internal/external)
  • Familiarity with creating and executing batch Action Scripts in Photoshop
  • Ability to travel 10-20%.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Digital Asset Management (DAM) and/or Product Information Management (PIM) Systems
  • Design skills with a core focus on marketing consumer products
  • Applications used for designing 3D images (such as 3D GIMP)
  • Ability to create AVI and MP4 video rendering
  • Experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Understanding of XML language

Responsibilities

  • Management of other graphic designers in the Marketing org, including training, supervising, assigning tasks, managing backlog and reviewing performance with them.
  • Utilize various internal tools and applications developed by Fujifilm used to create, manage and track Fujifilm’s proprietary templates.
  • Support graphic designers with uploading and submitting graphical designs and related files into an Asset Management system that is used to track and manage products and templates created.
  • Collaborate with other designers and marketing managers on the team to review and share ideas and design concepts.
  • Work with the Content Managers and Marketing team to understand customer requirements and specifications needed to make the necessary product graphics and templates to the customer’s expectations.
  • Train and support 3rd Party Design Agencies to assist with template and graphic designs as necessary.
  • Work with catalog ops team and software test technicians to troubleshoot and solve template printing issues as needed.
  • Attend & participate in meetings with Catalog Development Team, Marketing Team, FUJIFILM Divisions and others as needed; or assign appropriate designers to attend as needed.
  • Provide admin and management support, along with design knowledge and expertise, for the PIM/DAM platforms
  • Work cross collaboratively with Marketing teams, Catalog Ops team, PIM/DAM team, to ensure deliverables and timelines, plus to identify process improvements and changes that would be needed to increase efficiency and to accomplish business objectives.
  • Work with Content team on finding and setting up new design agencies, supporting all parts of the process from identifying agencies to working with our legal team on contracts and supporting onboarding to our systems and tools.
  • Oversee the maintenance for the design guide website, using WordPress, as an up to date and accurate resource for Designers and agencies providing files to Fujifilm for our partners or our own D2C experience.
  • Oversee the creation of assets supporting new product launches for select retail partners, including button templates, OSD files, design templates; including support of the Catalog Ops team in verifying specs as needed.
  • Oversee the design & creation marketing display graphics and graphical templates for FUJIFILM products, as requested by Content and Marketing team members
  • Use Adobe Creative Cloud Suite to create graphical designs for consumer photo products.
  • Keep up to date with the latest trends for template designs.
  • Be available for in person meetings at the Rochester Office as needed (expected 1x per month)
  • Manage a team of 3 graphic design contractors.
  • Provide clear objectives and work assignments for the team.
  • Monitor and tracks employee performance and provides regular and timely feedback.
  • Identify training and growth opportunities to advance the individual team member
  • Accomplish staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; conducting training; implementing enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Effectively manage team deliverables
  • Review and approve timesheets for contractors
  • Recruit and onboard designers or other contractors as needed for various projects; whether working with Fujifilm HR or outside placement agencies to find the talent needed for the project.
