The Office of Communication & Public Engagement is seeking an experienced Graphic Design Manager to supervise, plan, conceptualize, coordinate, and participate in the development, design, creation, and production of a wide range of graphic art and visual materials for print and digital media that effectively communicate the City's mission, values, services, and other information to the community. The Graphic Design Manager plays a pivotal role in shaping the visual identity of public administration initiatives, ensuring that layout and design are aligned with brand and production standards, are consistent and of the highest quality across all platforms, and follow best practices. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with the Communication & Public Engagement team and staff from other City departments to provide advice and guidance on design strategies and best processes and procedures to realize a final product that will encourage participation in City activities, programs, and events, and educate and inform the public about the services, facilities, and opportunities available through the City of Gaithersburg. The ideal candidate will be an experienced, creative, and resourceful professional who has a strong eye for visual composition, shows amazing attention to detail, and is capable of offering fresh perspectives and overseeing and delivering creative and imaginative ideas while handling multiple priorities and meeting firm deadlines. Must have excellent communication (verbal and written), organizational, and time, staff, and resource management skills, and thrive on working collaboratively with others in order to contribute to an effective team and create a positive and productive work environment.
