About The Position

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: Perform and coordinate the work of others or graphic design projects in the creation, development and production of printed, display and web-based materials or products used in informational and educational programs, marketing and advertising efforts, promotional or retain use or similar purposes. Design, lays out and produces department publications, newsletters, brochures, signs, banners, displays or other products using the appropriate graphic design tools including large-format and desktop printers, laminator, dry-mount press and other tools as needed. Create, develop and incorporates complex themes and designs to produce complete layout designs to produce layouts and designs that incorporate all components into products for promotional and marketing of informational and education material. Create illustrations by hand when necessary. Proofs product to ensure it is free from spelling and other errors. Maintain a library of photos for department usage. Work with designers to assemble and maintain a digital library of photos, images, completed projects and digital files for reproduction. Recommend acquisition of software and hardware technology. Coordinate managing the agency and department website and electronic publications. Create computer generated designs for web pages and print projects using media methods and equipment for industry standard graphic design software. Works closely with the digital accessibility coordinator to ensure all designs are accessible. Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements

  • Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree in graphic design, commercial art, studio art or a closely-related field.
  • Two years of experience in graphic design.
  • Experience in one of the above areas will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
