About The Position

The Grants Manager is a member of the Development Team and is a liaison between the Agency and its funders. The Grants Manager is responsible for, and in some cases in conjunction with Programs, researching, preparing, submitting and managing grant proposals and reports that support Agency goals and meet funder guidelines and criteria.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent lived and/or worked experience required.
  • 3 or more years’ experience in grant writing and grants management or fundraising.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Satisfactory results from pre-employment criminal and civil background screening required.
  • Motor vehicle records (MVR) review required as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the grant-seeking process in its entirety.
  • Research potential funders, explore funding opportunities, assessing the fit with CCO.
  • Prepare the annual grant submission calendar
  • Collaborate with Agency Programs and Leadership of the area the grant will serve for a comprehensive understanding of the needs.
  • Understand CCO’s budget processes and history; ensure grant seeking efforts align with the agency budgets.
  • Project-manage the grant – production of the grant as well as participation in producing the grant proposal. Research statistics, trends and data for grant proposals
  • Maintain current library of grant support documents including resumes, bios, IRS forms, Board/staff data, etc.
  • Execute thank you letters and facilitate grant contracts/agreements.
  • For grants awarded, manage the complete reporting process to ensure accurate and timely report submission.
  • Monitor and maintaining funder and investor reporting schedules and requirements
  • Track progress toward organizational and programmatic outcomes and goals
  • Draft compelling progress reports and targeted program updates to funders that fully capture programmatic success
  • In close partnership with members of Program Leadership, assemble all necessary supporting materials and documents including budget reports, outcome measurements, and success stories to submit reports to funders.
  • Responsible for writing grants as well as managing grant writers CCO contracts with.
  • Essential to develop and maintain strong internal relations with both Accounting and Programs. Must maintain a thorough and comprehensive understanding of all programs and services provided by CCO, as well as ongoing understanding of CCO budgets allowing for grant budgets to be created that align with Agency philosophy. The Grants Manager will work closely with the CDO to ensure the written grant narrative and the budget tell the same story.
  • Develop and maintain excellent external relations with funders and thereby helping position CCO to be competitive and increase the number of awards to be aligned with the strategic direction and goals of the Agency.
  • Participate in trainings and meetings as requested.
  • Adherence to Catholic Charities policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
