About The Position

Works closely with the Chief Development Officer to manage the grants portfolio of PrimeHealth+. This position maintains the primary role in government, foundation, and other private grant writing and managing the organization’s portfolio of HRSA grants. This position supports other activities and assignments related to fundraising, donor development, special events, and community relations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Human Services, Public Health, Public or Business Administration field or 3-5 years’ experience substituted for one year college.
  • Must be current or willing to be vaccinated for the following

  • HEP B series
  • Flu Shot
  • TB Screening

Nice To Haves

  • Previous non-profit experience desirable, demonstrated grant writing, especially federal and state grants and contracts.
  • Previous employment in healthcare sector is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Support the Development Department in order to ensure sound funding base for the organization, through researching funding opportunities, grant-writing, implementation, recordkeeping and reporting.
  • Assume the lead role for the organization on the Health Resources & Services Administration (HRSA) Electronic Handbooks (EHB), online federal grant system
  • Manage the organization’s grant portfolios and others’ access to grants/reports; train and assist new users as needed
  • Inform leadership of changes, plans, advisories and updates issued from HRSA
  • Monitor and explore HRSA funding opportunities and apprise senior leadership of potential matches for the organization
  • Manage the development of HRSA grant renewals (Service Area Competition/SAC grants) and other grants well-suited for the organization’s need and funding base
  • Work with leadership and/or consultants to develop, refine and finalize all grant submissions
  • Monitor pending tasks in EHB and respond with required actions for complete and timely compliance
  • Track and report status of submitted applications
  • Work with organization staff to complete reporting, including to the Uniform Data System, if needed
  • Develop and submit Changes in Scope (CIS) requests as appropriate
  • Maintain award contracts and all grant materials in organized files, electronic & hard copy
  • Participate as needed in Operational Site Visits and other official reviews
  • Take the lead role on other grant development opportunities with health care foundations, government agencies and various service clubs, corporations, local businesses to include all aspects of exploring, preparing, submitting proposals, monitoring and reporting to ensure timely completion including expenditure of funds and achievement of objectives.
  • Create, improve, and maintain systems to track grants (grant tracking database) grant status, and related documents
  • Maintain a complete calendar of grant activities and provide status updates to Development Officer at least monthly
  • Represent the organization at meetings of business and professional groups and actively participate in community activities to develop and maintain effective relationships with community-based organizations, leaders which promotes the vision and sustainability of the clinic.
  • Participate on the Donor Relations board committee.
  • Support all special projects directly related to the department.
  • Performs other related job duties and responsibilities as assigned.
