About The Position

The Grants Manager at the International Rescue Committee (IRC) is responsible for overseeing pre- and post-award activities related to grants and funding opportunities. This role involves managing a geographic-specific portfolio, collaborating with various teams to develop proposals, and ensuring compliance with donor requirements. The Grants Manager will lead a team of Grants Coordinators and work closely with senior leadership to secure funding that supports the IRC's mission of helping people affected by humanitarian crises.

Requirements

• Master's Degree in nonprofit management, community development, social sciences, or related fields.
• Three or more years of nonprofit or public sector experience in development and grants.
• Three or more years of supervisory experience.
• Excellent writing, research, and organizational skills.
• Familiarity with government funding agency processes.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Nice To Haves

• Certification or continuing education in project management, proposal development, or fundraising.
• Familiarity with the Northern California non-profit/philanthropy environment.
• Experience with IRC systems of PEERS and OTIS.

Responsibilities

• Manage a geographic-specific portfolio that supports two offices.
• Represent NorCal offices in regional funding opportunities.
• Collaborate with senior management in prospecting efforts for funding.
• Lead the development of proposals, budgets, and ensure quality control.
• Coordinate grant opening and closing meetings for funded opportunities.
• Support donor requests and manage communication with department leads.
• Develop and maintain contract and grant files with consistent documentation standards.
• Provide leadership and management of grants teams across Northern California.
• Maintain proposal calendars and grant tracking systems.
