The Grants Manager at the Institute for RNA Innovation will oversee all post-award activities related to grant management, ensuring compliance with sponsor guidelines and financial oversight of grant portfolios. This role involves collaboration with principal investigators and requires a strong background in research administration, financial management, and supervision of staff.

  • Oversee post-award grants management activities on complicated grants, including industry-sponsored and training grants.
  • Ensure Principal Investigators (PIs) adhere to budgets and sponsor regulations.
  • Monitor expenditures, invoicing, and execute account closeout.
  • Prepare monthly reports on all sponsored projects for PIs.
  • Conduct financial analysis and quarterly forecasts with PIs.
  • Manage new award setup including budget entry and subcontract processing.
  • Prepare annual sponsored programs budgets and participate in the annual budget process.
  • Assist with large, complex grant submissions such as T32s and P01s.
  • Process biannual effort reporting and provide purchase order approvals.
  • Supervise one direct report and develop training opportunities for staff.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or Accounting.
  • 5 to 7 years of experience in pre- and post-award research administration or equivalent education and experience.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive data.
  • Proven ability to handle complex portfolios.
  • Experience with University research and financial systems, including Business Objects/Data Warehouse, Workday, and BEN Financials preferred.
  • Experience administering complex grants, contracts, and sponsored agreements preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Word, Excel, and data warehouse systems.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and organizational skills.
  • Excellent writing skills.
