The Grants Manager (College) at Harold Washington College, part of the City Colleges of Chicago, plays a pivotal role in leading and managing the development, preparation, and submission of competitive proposals aimed at acquiring grants and funding for various college projects and initiatives. This position is essential in supporting the work of grants development teams, including grant writers, and provides guidance to Principal Investigators (PIs), Program Directors, and other staff throughout the post-award process. The Grants Manager ensures that funded projects and programs are effectively administered and comply with grant requirements, thereby contributing to the college's mission of promoting socioeconomic mobility and racial equity in the community. In this role, the Grants Manager will manage the entire pre- and post-award grant lifecycle for multiple grant opportunities and awards at the college level. This includes collaborating with various stakeholders within the City Colleges of Chicago to research and identify grant opportunities that align with the institution's strategic priorities. The Grants Manager will communicate vital information regarding grant funding prospects and submission deadlines to relevant parties, ensuring that all stakeholders are informed and prepared. The position also involves leading work groups in the development of grant applications according to Request for Proposals (RFPs) and funder requirements. The Grants Manager will support and participate in the proposal development process, working closely with grant writers to create, review, and edit content for competitive proposals. Additionally, the Grants Manager will oversee external grant writer consultants and manage expenditures in accordance with departmental budgets and contract guidelines. Furthermore, the Grants Manager will provide ongoing support to PIs, co-PIs, Program Directors, and college teams to ensure proper grant implementation, adherence to reporting requirements, and timely close-out of grants. This role requires a strong understanding of federal, state, and local regulations related to grant administration, as well as collaboration with the finance team to manage grant budgets and financial matters effectively. The Grants Manager will maintain accurate electronic records of grants and contracts, assist in preparing reports for the City Colleges of Chicago Board of Trustees, and participate in team meetings to summarize the status of proposals and awards.
