About The Position

The Grants Management Specialist position at FEMA's Region Ten Grants Division involves overseeing the full life-cycle of grants management, ensuring compliance with regulations, and conducting financial reviews of recipients. The role is critical in implementing grant management policies and conducting risk assessments to support FEMA's mission of emergency management.

Requirements

• Experience in administering, monitoring, and closing out grants.
• Experience in monitoring or assessing awardees' performance to implement corrective action plans or make recommendations.
• Experience providing technical assistance to recipients to ensure compliance with Federal requirements.
• At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level in the Federal government for GS-12 applicants.
• At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level in the Federal government for GS-13 applicants.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in managing and coordinating complex grants and cooperative agreements.
• Experience in preparing comprehensive reports reflecting monitoring activities and results.

Responsibilities

• Implement and interpret grant management policies, standards, regulations, practices, and procedures within the region.
• Review and process requests for amendments, extensions, changes, and funding awards and/or de-obligation and closeout.
• Conduct analysis of Federal Financial Reports/Program Progress Reports for completeness and accuracy.
• Conduct risk assessment of grant recipients for all open grant awards and prepare fiscal year monitoring schedule in compliance with FEMA monitoring policy and guidance.
• Review and recommend updates and changes to internal controls and/or procedures based on continual assessment of functional activities.
