About The Position

The Grants Finance Associate plays a crucial role in supporting the Munroe-Meyer Institute's research portfolio by working closely with principal investigators to apply for and manage both internal and external projects. This position ensures compliance with university policies and procedures while providing financial and budget analysis support. The role requires strong attention to detail and effective communication skills, as well as the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 3 years of related financial/budget analysis experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Strong attention to detail and well-developed communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Experience with Microsoft Access and SAP.
  • Familiarity with Cayuse and Microsoft OneNote.
  • Understanding of accounting standards in the research industry.

Responsibilities

  • Assist principal investigators in applying for and managing research projects.
  • Ensure compliance with university policies and procedures related to sponsored programs.
  • Conduct financial and budget analysis for various projects.
  • Prepare and present technical information to MMI staff as needed.
  • Identify and prioritize tasks to ensure timely completion of assignments.
