About The Position

The Grants Director at Owensboro Community & Technical College is responsible for researching, writing, and securing grants to support the college's strategic priorities. This full-time position involves overseeing grant management, ensuring compliance with grantor requirements, and providing technical assistance for grant-related budgets. The role requires strong leadership, project management skills, and the ability to develop professional relationships with grantors.

Requirements

  • BA/BS in English, journalism, or a related field is required.
  • Six (6) years' relevant work experience in proposal/technical writing or related experience is required.

Nice To Haves

  • MA/MS and eight (8) years of grant writing experience in an institution of higher education is preferred.
  • Knowledge of federal grant/contract regulations and procedures is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the management of selected grants and related budgets, serving as principal investigator if necessary.
  • Compile, write, and submit grants according to grantors' requirements and deadlines, including narratives, budgets, and supportive documentation.
  • Direct the work of grant development teams to research ideas and gather background information for grant proposals.
  • Acquire and maintain expert knowledge of the college's needs and strategic planning suitable for grant funding.
  • Develop and implement procedures and policies on grant development and implementation.
  • Provide training for grant project directors and serve as a liaison for agreements between the college and KCTCS.
