About The Position

The Grants Coordinator at Exceptional Children's Foundation is responsible for identifying and managing grant opportunities, coordinating grant activities, and ensuring compliance with funder requirements. This part-time role involves collaboration with the Chief Development Officer and Grants Consultant to develop effective grant proposals and reports, while maintaining high ethical standards and supporting the organization's mission.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Experience in grant writing and working with nonprofits.
  • Strong knowledge of the philanthropic community.
  • Valid California driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Evidence of state-mandated car insurance and an insurable driving record.
  • Ability to pass a DOJ background clearance.
  • Provide evidence of a negative TB test initially and every three years thereafter.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with project management tools for tracking grant activities and timelines.
  • Familiarity with financial accounting related to grants.

Responsibilities

  • Research grant opportunities from various donors, foundations, and public entities to determine eligibility criteria and identify matches with the organization's work.
  • Assist in monitoring the proposal process to ensure compliance with funder's policies and legal requirements.
  • Collaborate with team members to assist with grant projects and develop relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Coordinate pre-award planning, organization, preparation, and post-award administration of various grants.
  • Provide guidance and support in identifying and developing grant opportunities.
  • Prepare proposals and reports by gathering and formatting information, writing drafts, and obtaining approvals.
  • Meet proposal deadlines by establishing priorities and target dates for information gathering, writing, review, approval, and submission.
  • Collaborate with the Grants Consultant on the use of the Grants Calendar.
  • Maintain quality results by using templates and following proposal writing standards.
  • Support the entry of accurate grant information in the agency's database.
