About The Position

The Grants Coordinator position at the Nashville Department of Transportation and Multimodal Infrastructure (NDOT) is responsible for managing, monitoring, and facilitating grant activities related to transportation and infrastructure investments in Metro Nashville. The role involves researching policies and data to support grant writing and ensuring compliance with grant requirements. The Grants Coordinator plays a crucial role in securing funding for capital improvements and works closely with various stakeholders to achieve the department's objectives.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree from an accredited college or university and two (2) years of supervisory and/or administrative experience, or a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university and four (4) years of supervisory and/or administrative experience.
  • Valid Driver License.

Responsibilities

  • Researches and analyzes policies and data essential to transportation and infrastructure investments in Metro Nashville.
  • Manages grants from local, state, federal, and non-profit sources on a daily basis.
  • Maintains grant deadline schedules, plans team meetings, and coordinates with partners and stakeholders.
  • Writes grants and manages contracted grant writing activities.
  • Performs research, gathers data specific to grants, and analyzes grant format, requirements, and submission data for optimal outcomes.
  • Summarizes project descriptions, budgets, and needs for grants.
  • Audits and reviews grant files for programmatic and budget contract compliance.
  • Maintains databases of grant opportunities and stays aware of capital and operational needs.
  • Makes recommendations for funding opportunities and maintains an active schedule of existing grants, statuses, and action items.
  • Provides support and expertise to project managers working on grant-funded projects.
  • Attends meetings with NDOT finance, planning teams, grant teams, stakeholders, and partners.
  • Reviews CFMS for P.O. requests and ensures grant contract compliance.
