About The Position

The Grants Compliance Manager is responsible for overseeing grant compliance and providing technical assistance to ensure that grants are managed effectively within the Puyallup Tribe of Indians. This role involves collaborating with various program directors and administration to monitor compliance with grant agreements, analyze funding opportunities, and support the development of operational plans. The position requires a strong understanding of federal and state grant regulations and the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university; Master's Degree preferred.
  • Two years of related experience in grants management or implementation, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of laws, regulations, and policies governing federal and state grants.
  • Experience in program development and implementation.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret federal and state laws and requirements.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.

  • Experience navigating online tools, systems, and portals.
  • Prior experience in grant compliance and monitoring.

Responsibilities

  • Researches local, state, and federal Notices of Funding Opportunities (NOFO) to determine potential grant management issues.
  • Analyzes grant agreements and contracts to determine compliance requirements and prepares grant management guidelines.
  • Works closely with Program Directors to understand programmatic operations and needs.
  • Conducts feasibility studies and prepares reports to guide the development of new projects.
  • Ensures Project Managers are informed of compliance regulations and procedures.
  • Interprets and monitors laws, regulations, and guidelines as they apply to grant management and compliance.
  • Provides ongoing assistance to Program Director and staff throughout the lifespan of the grant.
  • Conducts pre-award grant meetings to review grant terms and conditions.
  • Facilitates meetings with Project Manager and Technical Assistance Providers.
  • Oversees and updates credentials within grant management systems.
  • Conducts grant closeout reviews to ensure project management and budget components are complete.
  • Develops positive working relationships with Grant Program Managers.
  • Identifies areas of growth within tribal departments for future grant funding.
  • Creates a system for monitoring existing awards and compliance items.
  • Works closely with Accounting for grant reporting and budget analysis.
  • Updates grant writers on project performance throughout the grant lifespan.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
