Performs administrative functions associated with research contracts and awards. Develops, coordinates and implements routine types of research contracts on behalf of the University. Uses computer systems to facilitate the administration of those contracts, including coordinating changes and expansion of contract terms.   • Creates standard form contract, agreement and subaward document drafts for OSP review.
  • Provides expertise and guidance to departmental administrators and other support staff regarding the sponsored project post-award processes.
  • Communicate effectively within OSP and with faculty and department administrators on work status. Routes documents to faculty and department staff for internal approvals.
  • Sends internally approved contracts, budgets, agreements and subawards to external entities for review and signatures.
  • Tracks all documentation associated with contract or agreement and ensures timely processing of materials and completion of each phase. This requires follow up with sponsors, subsites and other entities until fully executed agreements are obtained.
  • Sets up new awards and creates award modifications the computer systems and applications based on information collected. Verifies collected information is accurate and that the budgets and award documents are complete
  • Initiate and follow process steps to facilitate subaward payments and invoicing.
  • Routes fully executed agreements, Purchase Orders and associated notices to subsites and other entities and also provides the documents internally to faculty and departmental administrators.
  • EQUIVALENCY STATEMENT: 1 year of higher education can be substituted for 1 year of directly related work experience (Example: bachelor's degree = 4 years of directly related work experience).
  • Grants and Contracts Officer, II: Requires a bachelor's (or equivalency) + 4 years or a master's (or equivalency) + 2 years of directly related work experience.
  • Grants and Contracts Officer, III: Requires a bachelor's (or equivalency) + 6 years or a master's (or equivalency) + 4 years of directly related work experience.
