The Grants Accounting Manager ensures accurate and timely implementation, tracking, and reporting of all grant-related financial activities. This role also supervises the Accounting Assistant assigned to grants. The Grants Accounting Manager is responsible for developing and maintaining accurate grant budgets, financial reports, and supporting documentation. This position serves as the primary liaison for grant-related financial matters, ensuring compliance with grantor requirements and internal policies. The role requires strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills to keep stakeholders informed and facilitate proper use of grant funds. Key objectives include: Delivering timely and accurate grant budgets and reports to grantors. Maintaining complete and compliant financial records. For the same reason, current Behavioral Health patients/clients cannot be employed by HOPES. Accordingly, you hereby acknowledge and understand that if you are receiving services from a HOPES Behavioral Health provider at the time you are offered and accept employment with HOPES, you have the option of rescinding your acceptance of employment or finding a new behavioral health provider outside of HOPES before starting employment with HOPES.

  • Oversee all aspects of grants accounting, including budgeting, reporting, and compliance.
  • Develop and implement policies, procedures, and quality measures for grant management.
  • Prepare and submit grant budgets in collaboration with program teams.
  • Review and reconcile general ledger entries; maintain audit-ready records.
  • Monitor grant expenditures to ensure adherence to funding requirements.
  • Conduct internal audits and develop strategies to mitigate compliance risks.
  • Prepare recurring reports such as FFR cash reports, BPR, Allocation, and Expenditure reports.
  • Review and process grant contracts per agency policy.
  • Utilize accounting software and spreadsheets for data entry, reporting, and analysis.
  • Ensure accuracy in payroll, payments, and other electronic transactions related to grants.
  • Act as the subject matter expert on grant accounting and compliance.
  • Provide monthly updates to program teams on grant spending.
  • Collaborate with leadership, program directors, and grantors to meet reporting requirements.
  • Support auditors and respond to inquiries from vendors and stakeholders.
  • Supervise the Accounting Assistant assigned to grants.
  • Provide performance management, coaching, and training to staff.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and compliance awareness.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on grants and budgeting.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and grant compliance requirements.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
