About The Position

The Grant Coordinator supports the Grant Director in providing oversight, compliance monitoring, and leadership for assigned grants. This position plans, implements, and manages all aspects of projects to ensure alignment with grant requirements. Key responsibilities include maintaining budgets, preparing timely and accurate reports, and fostering strong relationships with project participants, community partners, faculty, staff, students, and advisory committees. The Coordinator also serves as a liaison between the project and external stakeholders, ensuring adherence to University, state, and federal regulations. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship at this time.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in public administration, business, health sciences, education, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least 2 years of experience in grant management, project coordination, or program administration.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of federal and state grant regulations, compliance requirements, and reporting standards.
  • Experience with budget monitoring, financial tracking, and basic accounting practices.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and priorities independently.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare reports, correspondence, and professional presentations.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with faculty, staff, students, community partners, and external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with office productivity software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, Excel, databases) and the ability to learn grant management systems.
  • Strong judgment and problem-solving skills with the ability to respond appropriately to sensitive or complex issues.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Public Health, Health Administration, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience working directly with physicians, pharmacists, PAs, nurses, and other medical providers in educational, training, or programmatic settings.
  • Prior experience managing contracts, providing trainer feedback, or coordinating interdisciplinary healthcare programs.
  • Experience in HIV, opioid, or other public health-related program development, training, or outreach.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Grant Director with administrative, financial, and operational management to ensure smooth daily operations.
  • Manage budgets for assigned grants (e.g., ID AETC and CDH Opioid), including reviewing invoices, monitoring time and effort, and overseeing expenses for training, contracts, and travel.
  • Implement and ensure compliance with University, state, and federal policies governing grant management.
  • Conduct needs assessments with statewide partners to align grant initiatives with Idaho’s healthcare priorities, such as HIV and opioid education.
  • Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among internal and external stakeholders; use sound judgment to address inquiries and direct them appropriately.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key trainers (physicians, pharmacists, PAs, nurses, and HIV specialists); manage contracts, communications, and engagement to ensure alignment with program goals.
  • Develop and manage program communications, identify outreach opportunities, and support community engagement and collaboration efforts.
  • Coordinate programming tied to deliverables, including expanding Idaho as an Interprofessional Education (IPE) site through AETC partnerships and strengthening interdisciplinary collaborations.
  • Exercise independent decision-making in implementing strategies, resolving complex issues, and allocating resources to achieve project goals.
  • Represent the program with professionalism in sensitive or high-profile matters requiring strong interpersonal and public relations skills.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Grant Director.
