About The Position

The Grant Manager is responsible for the direct financial management and compliance oversight of an assigned portfolio of federal, state, and pass-through grants. Serves as the centralized authority for interpreting grant requirements, making allowability and allocability determinations, overseeing grant budgets and reporting, and managing grant related audit and monitoring activity for assigned awards. Provides authoritative judgment, oversight, and coordination to ensure grant funds are managed in full compliance with applicable regulations and funding agreements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Minimum of five years of progressive experience in audits, grant accounting, grant compliance, or nonprofit finance
  • Demonstrated experience managing assigned grant portfolios
  • Strong experience with Uniform Grant Guidance and grantor reporting requirements

  • Experience in Single Audit engagement work

Responsibilities

  • Grant Portfolio Management - Responsible for specific grants and serves as the primary financial point of contact for those awards. This includes ongoing oversight of financial compliance, coordination with program leadership, and communication with grantors as needed.
  • Grant Compliance - Applies Uniform Grant Guidance, program specific regulations, and grant agreement terms for all grants. This role issues guidance and makes determinations on allowability, allocability, and reasonableness of costs.
  • Grant Budgeting and Financial Management - Directs and oversees development of grant budgets and budget revisions for all grants, ensuring full cost budgeting, compliance with funding limitations, and alignment with program intent. This role identifies transactions requiring prior approval and ensures approvals are obtained.
  • Grant Reporting, Reimbursements, and Receivables - Reviews and approves all financial reports and reimbursement requests for assigned all grants prior to submission. This role ensures grant reimbursement receivables are monitored and resolved timely, and coordinates resolution of reimbursement disputes.
  • Audit, Monitoring, and Closeout - Leads grant related components of audits, monitoring visits, and financial closeout for assigned grants. This includes overseeing preparation of documentation, coordinating responses to inquiries, managing corrective actions, and ensuring timely and compliant grant closeout.
  • Training, Supervision, and Mentorship - Trains, supervises, and mentors Grant Accountants assigned to the grant portfolio. This includes providing technical guidance, establishing consistent grant management standards, reviewing work for accuracy and compliance, and supporting ongoing professional development.
  • Serves as a financial advisor to program leadership on assigned grants, partners with the CFO on grant risk assessment and sustainability, and coordinates with the Controller to ensure accurate grant coding and accounting support.
