About The Position

This is a grant funded position. Continuation of this position is contingent upon grant funding. The Upward Bound Del Valle Director is responsible for the daily operation and facilitation of the programmatic and administrative components of the Upward Bound Del Valle program. The Director will be responsible for coordinating and providing administrative oversight for all phases of the Program. Primary duties involve implementation of program activities and services to meet specific program objectives. Main office location at Target School (Del Valle High School) with frequent travel to the Texas State University Campus in San Marcos, Texas. This position works in-person at assigned location/s. Evening and weekend work required.

Nice To Haves

• Master’s degree in social work, education, counseling, higher education administration, or a related field appropriate for direct services and program leadership supporting students.
• Five (5) years of professional experience with federal TRIO programs, academic instruction, tutoring programs, or similar programs for disadvantaged low-income 9th -12th grade students who are potential first-generation college students.
• Three (3) years of professional experience in budget management, program development and evaluation, reporting and compliance with federal regulations, and staff supervision.
• Bilingual (Spanish) speaking/writing.
• Experience working with SAP /Excel for budgets and financial processes.
