About The Position

The Grant Development Manager at Mid-South Food Bank is responsible for designing and implementing strategies for major gift relationship management to increase financial donations and develop long-term donor relationships. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or Marketing.
  • 3+ years of grant writing experience.
  • 2+ years of management experience.
  • Proficient with measuring and reaching income goals.
  • Proficient with MS Office Word and Excel.
  • Excellent knowledge of fundraising information sources.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong people skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Write high-quality grant proposal narratives, applications, and support documents.
  • Research, collect data, and write each grant proposal.
  • Conduct grant update meetings with applicable departments at least twice monthly.
  • Manage the proposal submission process to ensure timely submission of all required materials.
  • Develop and maintain a proposal and spend down calendar.
  • Coordinate and follow-up on the progress of submitted proposals until funded.
  • Develop an annual grants strategy.
  • Conduct prospect research to identify, cultivate, and solicit new grants.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Development and Communications to compile the annual report.
