About The Position

This is a grant funded position. Continuation of this position is contingent upon grant funding. The position is headquartered in-person on the San Marcos campus. Reports to the Director of the McNair Scholars Program at Texas State University. The Grant Coordinator promotes educational achievement retention, good standing, and graduation for program participants. The Grant Coordinator is responsible for overseeing all program events and services (including recruitment, academic guidance activities, workshops, and tutoring assistance, etc.) to ensure compliance with procedures and to meet program goals and objectives. Evening and weekend work and travel may be required.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in higher education administration, student development, counseling, social work, or STEM -related field
  • 1 year planning educational and/or cultural trips.
  • 1 year experience hiring, training, and supervising in a tutoring or similar support program.
  • 2 years’ experience with academic support programs focused on student success.
  • Bilingual (Spanish) speaking/writing.
