About The Position

Grande Vista Bar & Grill is Emerald Grande’s signature restaurant located on the Destin Harbor overlooking Florida’s beautiful Emerald Coast with spectacular views of the Gulf of Mexico, Choctawhatchee Bay, East Pass and the Destin Harbor. Grande Vista Bar & Grill offers breakfast, lunch, dinner, full Poolside food & beverage service along with In Room Dining. Summary:  The Dishwasher is responsible for cleaning dishes in a food service environment to ensure that the kitchen has a steady supply of clean plates, bowls, silverware, pots, pans, and glasses. The duties include prioritizing loads of different kitchenware, hand-washing some dishes, loading the dish machine and placing dishes to dry.

Requirements

  • Highschool diploma or GED
  • Organization and time management skills needed
  • Ability to handle a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds several times a day, asking for assistance as needed
  • Ability to place cases, pans, utensils, and plates on both low and high shelves
  • Ability to work in a hot and damp environment
  • Must be able to speak, read, write, and comprehend the English language.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Valid driver’s license that has been in effect for at least three years, with no major violations and no more than two minor violations in the past three years.
  • All employees must adhere to all safety rules and regulations required by local, State and Federal authorities, wear the appropriate personal protective equipment necessary to perform the job in a safe manner and will follow all safety rules per the Company’s Safety Policy.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, reach with hands and arms; talk or hear and taste or smell. The employee is required to walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The employee must be able to lift 5-50 pounds regularly, and over 50 pounds with assistance, upon occasion.

Responsibilities

  • Clean dishes, glasses, silverware, and cooking supplies.
  • Stock/restock cleaning supplies.
  • Maintain proper chemical levels in dish machines.
  • Report supply and equipment problems to the Chef and/or Director of Restaurants.
  • Put clean dishes away in the proper locations.
  • Clean and organize the dish area, mop kitchen and bar areas at end of service.
  • Take boxes to the trash room.
  • Make sure trash is emptied in a timely fashion and take all trash out prior to end of shift.
  • Work at an efficient and consistent pace.
  • Other duties as assigned.
