About The Position

The Grand Challenges Initiative Teaching and Research Fellows program at Chapman University offers postdoctoral positions for early-career scientists and engineers. Requirements

• Must have a conferred Ph.D. or DSc. degree by the beginning of employment.
• Doctorate or equivalent must have been awarded within the last five years.
• Must not have exceeded five years of prior postdoctoral experience.
• Must identify and name a prospective faculty mentor in Schmid College or Fowler School of Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Teach foundational coursework on critical thinking, problem solving, communication, and teamwork in science and engineering.

• Utilize dedicated lab and makerspace access to help students turn their ideas into reality.
• Dedicate approximately 70% of time to research and 30% to teaching.
