About The Position

The Grand Cafe Lead Barista at Grand Geneva Resort & Spa is responsible for supervising barista staff, ensuring high-quality beverage preparation, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment. This role is crucial in delivering exceptional guest experiences in a prestigious AAA Four Diamond resort, recognized for its outstanding service and amenities.

Requirements

• Previous Barista experience is required.
• Basic mathematical skills necessary to operate a cash register, make change, count total bank, prepare cash drops, and total all other charges.
• Ability to read and speak English sufficient to understand menus and special promotions, and communicate with guests.
• Ability to operate keyboard and Point of Sale procedures to handle cashier functions.

Nice To Haves

• Previous supervisory experience is preferred.
• Ability to effectively resolve conflict situations, such as inaccurate check total.
• Must be able to learn all menu items and up-selling techniques.
• Must be able to work a varied schedule to include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays, and the ability to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Supervise staff in the manager's absence and train new team members.
• Provide quality beverages consistently for all customers, preparing beverages to standard.
• Maintain condition and cleanliness of work area.
• Follow standards for merchandising, stocking, rotating, and storing all products.
• Ascertain guest satisfaction; in the event of dissatisfaction, tactfully negotiate an accommodation.
• Comply with accounting guidelines regarding receipt of payments, cash drawer and house bank management.
• Balance house bank at the end of the shift.
• Perform any general cleaning tasks using standard outlet cleaning products as assigned by supervisor to adhere to health standards.
