At CHS, we are creating connections to empower agriculture.SummaryCHS is seeking a Grains Operator to join our team at our ethanol facility in Annawan, IL. In this role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient handling of incoming grain used in ethanol production. Responsibilities include operating grain handling equipment, monitoring grain quality, unloading and loading grain trucks, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring compliance with all safety and environmental standards. This position is ideal for someone with agricultural experience, mechanical aptitude, and a strong commitment to safety and reliability.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of experience in Operations and/or Production Operations
  • Must meet minimum age requirement

Responsibilities

  • Perform shipping and receiving functions, including loading and unloading trucks and railcars with grain, ethanol, and co-products in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Operate industrial and mobile equipment such as front-end loaders, forklifts, skid steers, and switching engines in accordance with company policies and training.
  • Conduct pre-load and post-load inspections of trucks and railcars to ensure product integrity and regulatory compliance.
  • Accurately complete shipping, receiving, inspection, and inventory documentation.
  • Manage product inventory using first-in, first-out (FIFO) principles and assist with inventory counts and reconciliations.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work environment, including warehouse areas, equipment, and workstations.
  • Perform basic preventative maintenance tasks and assist maintenance technicians as needed.
  • Assist with training and mentoring new employees on job duties, equipment operation, and safety procedures.
  • Follow all plant, environmental, quality, food/feed safety, and regulatory requirements.
  • Actively promote and support a strong safety culture by following all safety policies and procedures, identifying hazards, and reporting or correcting unsafe conditions.
  • Participate in safety meetings, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned to support plant operations.
