About The Position

As an Account Sales Manager at Grainger, you will play a crucial role in driving positive sales growth within a designated geography or vertical market. This position involves managing an average of 30-35 current accounts, generating annual sales ranging from $2 to $3.5 million. You will utilize Grainger's Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system, Salesforce, to manage all aspects of your business operations on a daily basis. Reporting directly to the District Sales Manager of Manufacturing, you will be expected to understand customer goals and remain responsive to their evolving needs. Your responsibilities will include demonstrating a thorough knowledge of market data and leveraging available resources to quickly adapt to new developments in your customers' businesses. You will oversee managed inventory tasks to enhance your understanding of customer requirements, increase engagement within customer groups, and ultimately drive sales results. A key aspect of your role will be to articulate Grainger's Value Proposition, providing tailored solutions that foster profitable sales growth. Additionally, you will develop account penetration strategies, which will involve conducting regular business reviews with essential customers to maximize sales opportunities. This position requires a proactive approach to sales forecasting, opportunity management, and customer planning. You will be expected to travel to each customer within your aligned market at least once a month, or more frequently as needed, to maintain strong relationships and address customer concerns effectively. Your ability to align planning goals with a structured pipeline development process will be essential in growing market revenue and achieving sales targets.
