About The Position

River Valley Cooperative is looking for a dynamic individual to join our Grain Origination team. We are looking for safety-minded people who are collaborative team players, and are ready and excited to make a difference. Our Originators are accountable for originating grain by calling on grain customers and prospects, and promoting company grain programs and policies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in ag business or equivalent
• Basic computer skills required.
• Valid Driver's License required.

Nice To Haves

• Ag retail experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Identify potential key accounts/grain volumes by county and establish contact pattern
• Work with origination team to establish and update market share numbers
• Establish plan with measurable goals to increase market share in designated trade area
• Be part of the origination team to establish grain programs and policies
• Communicate grain programs and policies to grain customers and prospects
• Be able to evaluate marketing alternatives and execute marketing plans with grain customers
• Understand company cash grain positions and basis positions and be able to evaluate these positions for marketing returns
• Understand cash and basis spreads to add value to market positions
