Grain Inspectors take on a diverse set of responsibilities to ensure the seamless operation of the facility, which includes tasks such as sample probing, commodity grading, testing, as well as general maintenance. They ensure proper flow of sample testing through the facility and steady flow of grain to the facility. The role includes acting as a back-up to Grain Prober/Sampler, being responsible for accuracy in reporting results, and providing information to the client of grain truck drivers. Grain Inspectors represent Eurofins Grain Inspection to client companies by acting as a liaison between the facility and client grain company merchandisers. They relay information to the grain operations manager for proper action, process necessary paperwork required by the client company and Eurofins Grain Inspection, and inspect and grain grade samples in a timely manner. Testing samples of grain by accepted industry practice using visual procedures and computerized equipment is also a key responsibility. Additionally, they assist in training incoming Grain Inspectors and evaluating their readiness to assume responsibility for testing. Adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations is crucial, as is maintaining a clean, safe work environment. Grain Inspectors must demonstrate the ability to operate all required basic lab equipment within the department in accordance with USDA grain standards and maintain cooperative working relationships with all company employees.
