Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 1 year plus experience working in grain handling facility or similar.
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Ag Mechanics, Ag Business or similar is preferred.
  • Must be able to read, write, understand and follow written and/or verbal instructions in English.
  • Available to work overtime and weekends.
  • Professional demeanor (safety conscious, quality of job performance, cleanliness, and verbal communications).
  • Able to pass a criminal background check.
  • Ability to effectively operate computers and various software programs.

Responsibilities

  • Provide training, support and assistance to hourly team members.
  • Maintain a safe and sanitary workplace in compliance with Company policies and applicable regulations.
  • Commit to team member safety, regulatory compliance and adherence to Company policies and procedures.
  • Load, unload, sample, grade, transfer, blend, dry, store, aerate and fumigate grain.
  • Supervise and manage all personnel and operational activities.
  • Manage the business plan according to pre-set objectives.
  • Be familiar with all operations, systems, policies and procedures.
  • Weigh or measure materials and products and use scales or other measuring instruments to verify specified tonnages.
  • Manipulate controls, levers, and valves to start pumps, auxiliary equipment, or conveyors, and to adjust equipment positions, speeds, timing, and material flows.
  • Record and track data such as weights, types, quantities, and storage locations of materials, as well as equipment performance problems and downtime.
  • Clean, sterilize, and maintain equipment, machinery, and work stations.
  • Observe conveyor operations and monitor lights, dials, and gauges to maintain specified operating levels and detect equipment malfunctions.
  • Monitor grain quality to ensure that product quality does not deteriorate.
  • Oversee and monitor preventative maintenance protocols and elevator operations.
  • Effectively communicate tasks, directives and policies with both senior management and supervised team members.
  • Work with the location origination team to ensure the efficient throughput of grain and maximize storage capabilities.
  • Become familiar with all applicable food safety standards and requirements.
