Grady Hospital Psychiatric Emergency Services Attending PsychiatristThe position is for an attending psychiatrist with an active medical license and board certification or board eligibility. The position requires four 8-hour shifts per week, with 8hours of administrative time; evenings until midnight, and on weekends regularly. Holidays will also need to be covered, and the applicant will be expected to help with this. Theattending psychiatrist will diagnose, treat, and disposition psychiatric patients who are in need of acute mental health treatment. The possible presentations include, but are notlimited to, acute psychosis, drug or alcohol intoxication, suicidal ideation, homicidal ideation, relationship conflicts, aggression and medication refill. The attending psychiatristcan expect to supervise trainees and to see patients on their own if necessary. In addition, the attending psychiatrist will provide medical clearance for 13B - the observation unitand oversee medical issues on 13A and 13B. It is expected that once the schedule is published that the psychiatrist will fulfill his or her assigned shifts or find someone to replacethem. NOTE: Position tasks are generally required to be performed in-person at an Emory University location. Remote work from home day options may be granted at department discretion.
