About The Position

Responsible for performance of ultrasound procedures in at least one of the following: abdominal, obstetrics and gynecology, adult or pediatric echocardiography or peripheral vascular ultrasound. The Graduate Ultrasound Technologist is an interim position between graduation from an accredited ultrasound program and employment as a Technologist, Ultrasound. The Grad. UT must take and pass the licensing exam, becoming registered within one (1) year of employment.

Requirements

  • Completion of an accredited Technical Ultrasound Program.
  • Registry eligibility.
  • CPR Certification.
  • The Graduate Ultrasound Technologist is an interim position between graduation from an accredited ultrasound program and employment as a Technologist, Ultrasound. The graduate must take and pass the licensing exam, becoming registered within one (1) year of employment.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Access as might be used in the preparation of correspondence/reports.
  • Effective interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to organize/prioritize work in an effective and efficient manner.
  • Ability to perform basic ultrasound procedures.

Nice To Haves

  • 6 months related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Exercises appropriate judgment, efficiency, and correct technique in the performance of ultrasound imaging.
  • Maintains proper documentation of data according to departmental and hospital policy/protocols.
  • Supports unit/hospital goals through QA and educational activities.
  • Collaborates effectively with patients, family, physicians, and other members of the healthcare team.
  • Complies with all departmental and hospital policies.
