About The Position
The Physics Department at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock is seeking a 9-month Graduate Teaching Assistant. All details of this task will be provided to you by the Physics Program. The remainder of your time is devoted to academics and your thesis/dissertation research. This position is governed by state and federal laws, and agency/institution policy.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution of higher education
- Regular admission to a UA Little Rock graduate degree program or good standing with the UA Little Rock Graduate School for continuing graduate students
- Ability to work the required hours (FT-50% - 20 hours per week/PT-25% - 10 hours per week) with regular attendance
- Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities
- Skill in planning, organization, coordination of activities
- Skill in establishing and maintain effective working relationships
- Skills in both verbal and written communication
- Skill in the use of personal computer and related software applications
Responsibilities
- Attend class sessions
- Serve as an assistant in laboratory activities
- Lead a class activity such as a discussion group or demonstration
- Tutor students
- Hold Office Hours and Respond to email questions from students
- Proctor examinations
- Grade tests and homework assignments
- Assist with development and evaluation of instructional materials
