About The Position

The School of Engineering and Engineering Technology at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock is seeking to hire a 9 month graduate teaching assistant. This position will help conduct the power systems laboratory. The Graduate Teaching Assistant will maintain the test equipment in the power systems laboratory and advise on laboratory upgrades when needed. This position is governed by state and federal laws, and agency/institution policy.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution of higher education OR regular admission into a UA Little Rock early entry program
  • Regular admission to a UA Little Rock graduate degree program or good standing with the UA Little Rock Graduate School for continuing graduate students
  • Ability to work the required hours (FT-50% - 20 hours per week/PT-25% - 10 hours per week) with regular attendance
  • Applicant must have advanced knowledge of power systems and associated laboratory equipment
  • Applicant should be skilled in operating and maintaining power systems and laboratory equipment
  • Must work well with others
  • Must have good communication skills
  • Must be punctual to the workplace

Responsibilities

  • Grading for undergraduate courses as assigned
  • May help conduct the Power Systems Laboratory
  • May maintain the Test Equipment in the Power Systems Laboratory
  • Advise on laboratory upgrade as needed
  • Teaching support for laboratory courses as assigned
  • Other duties as assigned by the direct supervisor
