About The Position

Looking to start your Tax career in 2026? Do you have a love of numbers, analytics and problem solving? Do you love building relationships? Whether you are in your final year of your degree or completed it and just had some time out – our pathway that can help you work towards being a qualified accountant! Our Tax team is based at our East Midlands office. As a Tax Trainee, you will assist work small teams to really understand our clients and what they want to achieve and advise them on how to get there. Role to start September 2026 with interviews taking place Tuesday 9th June in our SkyView office! Here at Cooper Parry, we’re in it together . Requirements

• Completed degree (or in your final year)
• Gained a minimum of 3 A Levels or equivalent with grades BBC (with a minimum of one A Level in numerical or business-related subjects)
• Have great attention to detail, with a passion for numbers and a knack for following processes
• Possess great communication skills, can build rapport and are comfortable approaching clients
• Ask questions and deliver a brilliant client experience
• Can adapt to changing priorities and work in different teams
• Able to multitask - processing data, chasing information and prioritising your own workload

• Are excited about Tax and driven to succeed in the role and qualification

Responsibilities

• Turning complex jargon into simple terms and actions for our brilliant clients
• Making sure our clients are compliant by preparing and submitting their tax returns
• Liaising with HMRC around tax returns and gaining tax reliefs
• Generating new ideas, solutions and spotting opportunities to enhance our client offering
• Keeping up to date with changes to legislation and the impact they may have on our clients
• Alongside the day-to-day, you will also study for your ACA/CTA or ATT/CTA Qualification through attending college courses and on the job training.
