About The Position

The Graduate Subsea Structures Engineer position at Wood PLC is designed for recent graduates in engineering, particularly in Structural, Mechanical, or Petroleum disciplines. This role involves supporting the Subsea group in Houston by assisting with various engineering tasks related to subsea projects. The position offers an opportunity to work alongside experienced engineers and contribute to innovative solutions in the energy sector.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Structural, Mechanical, or Petroleum); Master's degree is a plus.
  • Intern experience in the Oil & Gas industry preferred.
  • Must be a US Citizen or eligible to work in the US (local candidates preferred).
  • Excellent communication (written and spoken) and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Knowledge of Abaqus, Ansys, or SACS is an asset.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and flexible environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the performance of design/concept & engineering of project solutions.
  • Assist with the development of specifications and selection of systems related to offshore projects.
  • Assist with the preparation and checking of engineering reports and procedures.
  • Assist with the development of testing, installation, operation, and maintenance procedures.
  • Assist with Factory Acceptance Testing and System Integration Testing of new equipment on Contractor's premises.
  • Assist with verifying that the project conforms to appropriate safety standards and carries all necessary safety assessments.
  • Interact with department members to ensure that work is produced and issued in a timely manner and project information is distributed amongst them.
  • Contribute to lessons learned exercises.
  • Establish good rapport and build relationships with peers and clients by responding to requests and communicating information in a timely manner.
  • Remain updated on current professional practices and maintain a high awareness of new products and procedures in the industry by monitoring trade publications and actively participating in professional associations.
  • Comply with all company policies including safety policies.
