About The Position

The Graduate Studies Preparation Instructor will design and deliver a 6-week course to prepare McNair Scholars for graduate school applications. The course focuses on key components such as personal statement development, CV/resume building, interview preparation, and overall application strategy. The McNair Scholars Program supports first-generation, low-income, and underrepresented students in their pursuit of doctoral study. The instructor must create an engaging, inclusive learning environment that supports the academic and professional growth of each student. Requirements

  • Master’s degree or higher in a relevant field.
  • Experience with graduate school application processes (personal statement editing, CV development, interview preparation).
  • Experience teaching or mentoring undergraduate students.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree or higher in a relevant field.
  • Experience working with McNair Scholars or similar student populations.
  • Familiarity with graduate admissions in STEM , social sciences, and humanities.
