About The Position
Ninyo & Moore, a SOCOTEC Company has an immediate opening for a Graduate (Staff) Geotechnical Engineer in Houston, Texas.
Requirements
- B.S. in Civil, Geological, or Geotechnical Engineering (required)
- Understanding of soil mechanics and geotechnical engineering principles
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and good organizational abilities
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Note: This is not a geologist position.
Nice To Haves
- M.S. in a related discipline (preferred)
- Entry-level to up to 2 years of geotechnical consulting experience (preferred)
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and schedule geotechnical subsurface evaluations
- Perform boring mark-outs for utility clearance and supervise drill rig crews
- Classify soils and log borings, test pits, and cores
- Conduct floor level surveys and document distressed structures
- Assign laboratory testing and assist with geotechnical report preparation
- Compile laboratory test data and perform geotechnical analyses
- Conduct calculations for shallow and deep foundations, slope stability, and settlement
